Waaipoort Enterprises started as KEYS2ECO SA (PTY) LTD in 2020 as Keys 2 Environmental Community Operations in the field of Enterprise Development Models for small and medium sized rural communities. Now t/a as Waaipoort Enterprises in the Equity Ownership model where all participants can become co-owners through an ongoing mentorship program with a shareholding and stake in the outcome.
Resultant from our non-profit Sustainable Community Development NPC, we incorporated Keys2 t/a Waaipoort Enterprises into Waaipoort Farm to put into practice various products and services with ongoing development of financial self-sustainability that is now used by our small community and can be duplicated within other rural communities and enterprises alike. This model was originally developed by two very successful companies Semco in Brazil and SRC in the USA who today have grown their companies to over 5000 employee/stakeholders/co-owners. Both first and third world companies implemented these methodologies in 1983 and have more resilience against economic downturns and have outperformed the best international Limited Companies in terms of annual growth over the last 40 years. Waaipoort Enterprises offer the full or partial adoption of this model as a service to assist existing companies wishing to become more resilient against economic uncertainty in the future. |
Equity co-owners
Equity co-ownership is a methodology adopted from Jack Stack (SRC) in the Great Game of Business where all participants - Employers and Employees alike - go through a program of self-paced enterprise skills development.
As more skills, participation, contribution and commitment in the development of an enterprise are acquired by individuals within the organisation, so share division - be it in the holding enterprise or divisions within the enterprise - are apportioned to those individuals. This system in both SRC and SEMCO have over the past four decades produced astounding results with less than a 2% failure rate amongst participants. They are able to develop the skills to grow the enterprise/s and participate in daily decision making.
