We are building a permaculture model for rural regeneration in South Africa!

It is clear that society at large needs a viable, living example of a conscious, regenerative and sustainable community.

In the foothills of the Witteberge and Maluti mountains of the Eastern Free State,  Waaipoort is five years into becoming a Permaculture Farm - an example of regenerative practices, community-building and mentorship. It is an example of how, as a modern, conscious society, one can work and live most comfortably with the least impact on the environment. 

Our inspiration for this endeavour has come through the careful study of the laws of the biosphere, which over aeons has solved the most complicated problems of cooperative, interdependent life systems in this universe.

The whole property is designed according to Permaculture principles and developed along these lines.

Waaipoort Farm and Rosendal Permaculture Centre is also a place of learning for people of all ages and backgrounds.  Courses are run throughout the year and people are taught the various aspects of the principles of permaculture, which include regenerative agriculture practices, sustainable building practices, circular/ bio-regional economy, leadership programs and sustainable business practices leading to the development of Waaipoort Enterprises.
